the heat is off
Sacramento is hot in the summer. We just caught the tail end, but still managed a few days above 100º. It’s been surprisingly pleasant though, and way more comfortable than most 90º days in Boston. In case we forget how hot it is outside, we get a handy reminder.
While (sort of) useful, this cheap plastic outdoor thermometer lacks style points. We lived with it for a week, then got rid of it. I briefly advocated replacing it with an ultra-modern equivalent, but couldn’t find anything quite right.
Then I realized we’d managed this long without constantly monitoring the outdoor temperature from the comfort of our living room (that’s what iPhones are for) so I dropped the idea completely. No more ugly thermometer thingy.
