Another Sacramento Eichler is about to hit the market. We’ve known this was coming for a while, as we’re friends with the sellers. It will be very sad to see them go, but they won’t be far away. And hopefully we’ll get some nice new neighbors.
This beautifully cared for 1955 Eichler, has 3-beds/2-baths and 1635 square feet of living space, on a corner lot, just shy of a quarter-acre. It has a 4-year-old foam roof (the best energy efficiency upgrade you can make) with transferable warranty.
The home retains its Eichler feel, thanks to a mix of original features and tasteful updates. Flooring is mostly solid plank caramelized bamboo, plus some travertine. The kitchen is open to the main living/dining space, with sliders out to the south-facing yard.
As per most owners of this model (similar to ours) the ‘all-purpose’ room, at the front of the house, is used as an informal lounge. I wish we could setup ours like this, but an office makes more sense for us, as we work from home.
Did I mention it has a pool?! Perfect for long, hot Sacramento summers (now I’m getting jealous). And the roofline has been extended to provide some welcome cover on the patio, which is also accessible from the master.
No public open house planned (eliminating time-wasters and nosy neighbors…like us) just a broker’s tour. The sellers’ agent is Steve Streng, whose family are responsible for building around 3,000 Eichler-like Streng Homes in the Sacramento area.
The house is listed for $460K (scroll down the linked page for a video tour). I’m sure it’ll be snapped up quickly. If you’re in the market for a Sacramento Eichler, I’d kick your realtor into action. Photos 1-4 by Steve Streng. The last pic is mine.
Disclaimer: I am a Sacramento Eichler owner, and these observations are my own. Prospective buyers should conduct a home inspection, via a licensed professional.
